Yoga and Meditation
Yoga and Meditation go hand in hand. The purpose of yoga is to move your body into a meditative state creating benefits throughout the body and mind.
Types of Meditation
While Vipassana or sitting meditation is the most recognized, mediation can really be done any where an any time.
While many think this practice is meant to make you “NOT THINK” the purpose is more to make you more mindful of your surroundings. More present in each moment! Some of my favorites are.
Guided Meditation
Walking Meditation
Speaking Mediation
You can do it while shopping, folding laundry, doing dishes etc.
Yoga
Many of us associate yoga with being flexible. In reality yoga began as just 1 position sukasana or “sitting”. For centuries sitting in lotus was the only yoga position. Over time, is has developed into a miriade of poses.
The true purpose has always been the same. To train the mind and create harmony throughout the body and mind.
Having a non-dogmatic background in yoga I am trained in
Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, and restorative. I can create firey flows or calming gentle practices.
Why both?
When you combine these practices together you will leave feeling restored and energized.
Thirty minutes, one hour. Whatever you have, it will be better than not practicing at all.
Each session can be tailored to your needs.
